Information design communicates complex topics in an exciting way with the help of graphic representations. Abstract data is prepared and clearly presented using interactive information systems. This gives the viewer faster and more immediate access than text-based information. Digital media and increasing networking are creating growing amounts of data and information. New methods of knowledge visualization, presentation and transfer are therefore required. The HfG University of Applied Sciences offers a flexible didactic program that conveys the basics of design and at the same time refers to new social, technical and scientific developments. The fields of activity in communication design range from the development of publications, teaching and learning materials, usage and operating instructions, guidance and orientation systems, visual identity systems for institutions and companies through to the conception of exhibitions.

Master
The master program in Strategic Design combines design, management and research. Effective design must be strategic - problem-oriented, concept-led and goal-oriented. In order to be able to identify and analyze problems, scientific and economic knowledge is essential in addition to design knowledge. Design is understood here as design that, in addition to financial success, also pursues social progress towards an improved living situation for people. In other words, as strategic design that has a positive impact on social developments and the challenges of the future. The master program at the HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd imparts these skills in a project-related, interdisciplinary and application-oriented manner.
